Tips for Change "Aspects that aid in controlling oneself in Self Control"

tim thomas, life coach
Hi Webbers,

Here is this weeks Tips for Change.

Aspects that aid in controlling oneself in Self Control

Self-control is one of the various divisions of self-development. It is the capacity to encourage oneself to do the right things in life and curb our animal desires. However, the root of this self-development lies in a strong will power and disciplining oneself. Self-control produces a kind of confidence in us to the things that we think are difficult to achieve. It creates a drive of perseverance in us that make us accomplish our goals. One’s motivation empowers that person and making it possible to accept challenges that assist us with developing self-control.

But, it is important that an ample amount of rest be taken effectively apply self-control in life. An individual should find ways to relax himself. It may be by listening music, exercise and other things that boost up one’s energy levels. This will make it easy for the individual to accomplish his task. For instance, if there is a student who wants to complete a target of completing his entire course in a single day for a particular subject, then he may be studying the whole day. But, this may create a lot of stress on his mind and hamper his ability of learning. So if he would take breaks in between to relax himself then this will reduce stress and improve his productivity.

tim thomas, life coachSelf-awareness is the foremost aspect that needs to be dealt with for a successful self-control. This
means that one should first analyze one’s own personality and figure out his strengths and weaknesses. After this, he should try to resist the temptations that he faces in life in relation to his weaknesses. This is to say that if one loves ice cream and is used to have it everyday, then he should make efforts to limit it to twice a week. This is how a person strengthens up and develops strong will power thereby contributing to self-development.

So we can say that self-control is actually the willingness to reject one’s own temptation to a particular thing or a task. This brings us to the next aspect of self-control i.e. strong will power. Our will power makes us take a serious decision to complete a task. Most of us have the tendency to make up our mind for a mission, but due to our laziness or desire for other comforts, we are not able to abide to it. The most common example of this can be exercising in the morning, which we usually give up because we do not want to sacrifice on our sleep. This is where we actually understand the essence of a strong will power. A person with a strong will power will give up his comforts and establish his mission. This will power generally reduces in stressful conditions.

Last but not the least, is the aspect of self-discipline. All these three aspects of self-control are however interlinked. But each of them has a separate role to play. Self-discipline refers to fighting with one’s own feelings. In this, one has to discover the actual cause of one’s temptation and consciously negating it by getting involved in other interesting activities. This will in turn, develop a strong will power. Analyzing the consequences, that one’s actions in future will also help in reducing the urge for the temptation.

An optimistic approach to life will surly take an individual on the path of success as when an individual thinks positively then he will have a healthy body and thereby able to accomplish his tasks in a better way.

Thus, self-awareness, strong will power and self-disciplines together lead to an effective self-control and further to self-development.

Tips for Change "Self Improvement"

tim thomas, life coach
Hi Webbers,

How goes it? Our next topic will be about self improvement. How do you work on your self. This is a topic near and dear to my heart.

I can tell you I have made good and bad choices throughout my life. Luckily none have been so severe that they have restricted me.

When I coach others I like to make reference to a triangle. My start in life was like being at the bottom. There was no balance. I bounced from one extreme to the other. I had very few good role models and those that I did have I was too scared to share how screwed up my home life was. I struggled for years and years. I knew there had to be a better way. My mom who I love to death. Was willing to do whatever it took to put me in college. I couldn't let her do that. My choice to deal with it was to enter the service. I got closer to the top of the triangle so I bounced from side to side less and became more balanced. Some of it was good some was bad.
tim thomas, life coach
Again I had role models in there however there was no way I was sharing how screwed up I was or thought I was. I went on for another 15 years before I really got a handle on who I was. I was even closer to the apex of the triangle. Call it thirty five and then it wasn't until I was forty and a father that everything solidified. I know shift from left to right much less and am very close to the Apex. I worked on self improvement and knew what I needed to do. Yet I had no experience to base the knowledge on.

Today I raise my daughter to have choices and help fill in the gaps. I leave a lot of decisions to her and as hard as they are I let her make bad decisions instead of telling her no. The more she understands cause and effect. I believe the better off she is. Now don't get me wrong I won't let her injure or harm herself. She may get hurt but she will be alright. What do you do with your children?

I go by a saying now. I ask 3 questions. Is it good for me? Is it good for others? Is it good for the community? Then I go by the acronym think - T = Is it True? H = is it Helpful? I = is it Inspiring? N = is it necessary?  K = Is it Kind?

Webbers I hope you enjoyed this weeks Tips for Change.

Tips for Change "Surprising Time Management Secrets"

Hi Webbers,

tim thomas, life coachHow has the week been. Are we ready to rock it? I just had a great dinner with my daughter. If there is one thing I have learned at the age I am now there is no second chances. If you miss the moment it is gone so if you have to shuffle things to make room for something better. You better find a way. Check out or crazy surprise picture.

If you haven't heard Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, the best-selling self-help guru and author of 30 books, died late Saturday, his family and publisher said. He was 75. You can red more here . May he rest in peace.

Now for this weeks Tips for Change.

Surprising Time Management Secrets

One certainty in life is that time is limited. While no one is sure how many years they’ll be given to finish doing what they want to do, everything is equal for each day you are given. Everyone has the same 24-hour day to dream, determine goals, and complete tasks that will help them meet those goals. But doesn’t it seem like some people are just better at time management than others? Surprisingly, there are some time management secrets that make you feel like you have hours more in your day.

* Set Priorities - There are really only four choices:

1. Most important
2. Most urgent
3. Least important
4. Least urgent

When you identify tasks and set your priorities carefully by what is important over not important, as well as avoid having issues of urgency each day, you can get a handle on your time in ways that you never thought possible.
tim thomas, life coach

* Learn the Power of No – Saying no is probably one of the most important things you’ll ever learn to say. The problem is our parents disciplined the word “no” from our vocabulary. It’s time to learn how to say no again. If something is not right for you, is too “urgent”, causes you stress, or you just do not want to do it and it doesn’t fit in with meeting your goals, say no. Saying no will free up untold amounts of time to focus on your priorities.

* Disconnect from Technology – Unplug the phone, turn off email notifications, and for goodness sakes get off Facebook. If you’ve not completed the most important tasks on your daily list, you have no business messing around with technology. The idea of multitasking is overrated, so unplug and tune in to the tasks at hand. You’ll work faster, smarter, and gain the time you need for other things.

* Schedule Everything – Your priorities need to be added to your calendar. Everything from the 15 minutes you need to use social media for marketing purposes, to the one hour you take your kids to the park, needs to be put into your calendar. If you have a project due in a week, you should have five days of scheduled time to work on the project prior to the due date. This helps avoid those urgencies mentioned earlier.

* Ignore Interruptions – Unless the house is on fire or a child is bleeding, the telephone ringing and the knocks on your office door are not important. They are interruptions. Check your email at scheduled times during the day, explain to your children, spouse and family when you are working, and otherwise ignore the door bell ringing. If you didn’t schedule it, you don’t need it.

* Outsource – Whether it’s the housework, cooking, or customer service, it’s important to outsource
what you can afford to outsource. There are huge payoffs to outsourcing the things that are simply time suckers from your day. If you can’t afford to outsource, your kitchen will not explode if a few dishes pile up, and everyone can do with eating a salad for dinner. And, you can automate a lot of customer service issues if you work from home.

* Once and You're Done – Multitasking is not really a bastion of efficiency. Instead, seek to touch each task only once and finish it. For example, when you check the mail immediately throw out the trash, schedule bills to be paid, and deal with any issues that came up with a letter - right then. Of course, your mail time should be scheduled as well so that you can stay on track.

* Check Your Schedule – At least twice a day, set out the time to check your schedule. Usually the morning is good and at the end of the day is good. Ensure that you have your priorities in order, add anything new to your schedule that needs to be added, and remind yourself of what is expected the next day. Checking your schedule helps you feel accomplished at the end of the day, and reminds you of what’s coming up tomorrow.

Finally, it’s important to be very serious about following your schedule and calendar. Use technology to help such as Google Calendar or Outlook, synced to your smartphone to help you remember what it is that you should be doing now, and next. It may seem geeky to be so serious about a schedule, but it’s this one factor that makes these surprising time management tips work.

Tips for Change "Put It in Writing: Set a Schedule for Managing Time and Stick to It"

tim thomas life coachHi Webbers,

How goes the week. It is time for our weekly Tips for Change. What are you doing differently this week than you did last week or yesterday. I hope you are. There is plenty of time to make a shift.

This past week I was busy with working on a layout and storage for the website. We should be releasing it the end of this week. Stay tuned.

Put It in Writing: Set a Schedule for Managing Time and Stick to It

The hardest part about time management is making a real commitment to following a schedule. It can be especially difficult for people who want to work for themselves to work on any type of schedule. It can feel wrong somehow to keep a schedule as an entrepreneur. However, keeping a schedule is going to increase your success exponentially. Putting your schedule in writing will help you follow it.

* Use Your Smartphone – Today’s cell phones are really mini computers. You can have your entire life on there, including your work schedule with alarm reminders and everything. If you see a popup on your phone every time you go to use Facebook, reminding you of tasks that need to be done, you will not have much of an excuse for not doing them.

* Try Google Calendar – If you have a Gmail account, then you already have access to a powerful system that can help you put your time in writing, while helping you keep track. You can easily set up different calendars for different aspects of your life and color code the entries. Further you can print out a calendar each day or sync to your smartphone so that you don’t forget anything.

* Try a Project Management System – Project management systems like Basecamp can help you put your schedule into writing, and organize it too. You can use this system whether or not you outsource tasks to others by just assigning the work to yourself if you don’t have others to assign them to. You’ll get an email reminder before the task is due.

tim thomas life coach* Use Evernote – This nifty little program can be used to help you keep track of your schedule, notes for projects, and more. It has a bit of a learning curve, but once you get used to it you’ll enjoy using it to keep track of many tasks.

* Try the “Old-Fashioned” Date Book – The old Filofax still exists and many people prefer it to using technology. If you’re one that does, don’t despair because many people stay better organized with everything in writing in one single notebook. If that’s you, you can still do it that way.

* Use a Large Whiteboard – The great thing about having a large whiteboard on your office wall is you can’t escape the tasks that need to be done since they are very obvious. You can also feel accomplished as you erase things as they get done.

* Use Time Tracking Software – FreshBooks.com comes with time tracking software that enables you to keep track of what you’re doing easily once you set up names for them. Make entries for using social media, making phone calls, even doing the dishes, and you’ll soon figure out where you’re wasting time. You can’t get time back, so it’s nice to know where it all went.

* Create a Contract with Yourself – Actually put your promises and goals into writing in the form of a contract. Write down in black and white what you will do, what your work hours are, and what you plan to do during those work hours. Then sign it.

Setting a schedule and sticking to it requires commitment to your business as if it is a job. This isn’t to say that it won’t be more flexible than a job. But, if you have to move the two hours you wanted to work on a particular project, due to a family emergency, you need to then take time from elsewhere to replace the two hours you were going to work. Seeing the schedule in writing will help you schedule things the best by making a visual representation of your day.

Webbers I hope you enjoyed this weeks Tips for Change.

Please call on me. I am here for you. Schedule time with me today.

6/14/15 Tips for Change "The Link Between Low Self-Esteem and Depression"

life coach tim thomas

Hi Webbers,

I hope you enjoyed your weekend. My weekend could not have come quick enough this week. I work hard at my sales job all week. Have you ever had one of those weeks where nothing seems to go right. I never like to throw in the towel, by Friday I was done after a 45 hour work week. Most know I also perform as a Coach. I find it so fulfilling working with people. I enjoy building my practice and never feel like throwing in the towel. I also work just as hard in my practice. I recruit new coaches and coach. Besides that I am always working to improve some skill.

This week has been my golf swing and I have to say on a positive note. I have it to where it is predictable. Now it is time to hit the driving range and test it. My problem was I could slice the ball and if not that I would top it and snap my driver what an ugly swing. It may not be pretty today but it is predictable. Don't expect to see me on the PGA anytime soon. However not having to buy any
life coach tim thomas
more drivers will suit me just fine.

The goal for this upcoming week will be to sign 3 clients and 3 coaches. At the end of this post will be a link to schedule with me. Want to see how I can help you to change your world. Click on it and lets talk it is free what do you have to lose?

I have some martial training this week out in Winchendon, Mass with Ken Savage. We will be working on some Bujinkan Ninpo Tai-Jutsu. I am so excited I can't wait.

I have a four day work week I took Friday to work on the doll house. I can't wait to see it complete.

The Link between Low Self-Esteem and Depression

There are a lot of people who struggle with confidence issues, but there are those whose struggle goes much deeper than their confidence level. Those with low self-esteem seem to be more likely to struggle with depression. So are low self-esteem and depression linked and if so, how?

What Is Self-Esteem?

Self-esteem refers to someone's level of self-worth and self-respect. It goes much deeper than just confidence. It comes down to how that person feels about him or herself as a person.

life coach tim thomas
What Is Depression?

Depression is a feeling of sadness, hopelessness, or despondency that is usually long lasting and affects the quality of life of the person suffering.

How Are They Connected?

Often, people who have low self-esteem tend to also struggle with depression. It goes both ways, however. Depression itself can also lead to low self-esteem. It is quite common for someone who is struggling with one of these issues, especially over a period of time, to struggle with the other as well.

Why Are They Connected?

When someone does not feel that they are worth anything, or when they show a lack of respect for themselves, this can lead to depression. On the other hand, a person that struggles with depression can eventually turn the depression around on themselves, and it can weigh on their self-esteem.

Vulnerability

In either situation, the link ultimately happens because the person is very vulnerable not only to outside influence, but also to themselves. Someone who has feelings of worthlessness will understandably be very vulnerable to the pull of depression. Someone who is depressed may feel so low that they begin to blame themselves.

A Vicious Cycle

Once someone has entered this state of low self-esteem and depression, it often becomes a cycle. Especially for low self-esteem, these feelings often become self-affirming because the person does not feel worthy of the work it would take to better themselves, which only leads to an overall worsened situation.

The Weight of It All

For friends and loved ones, the inability to “just snap out of it” is not understandable. The fact is that
life coach tim thomas
people who suffer from this vicious cycle often spend their lives feeling like they are treading water on a good day, and drowning from the weight of life itself on bad ones.

Can the Cycle Be Broken?

With patience, understanding, and the affirmation of love from the people around them, the cycle of low self-esteem and depression can be broken. Expect it to take time and work, and you might need to consider professional help in some situations, but the cycle can be broken.

The link between low self-esteem and depression is strong. The vulnerability and feelings of hopelessness bring on a vicious cycle that only feeds into itself, worsening these feelings of worthlessness and depression. There is hope, however, and with the right kind of help, anyone can come back.

Well there you have it. Interesting to think? I have family that suffers from depression and I can say I never really understood it until recently. Years ago I acted very negatively about it. Now I try to understand and not judge. Please notice the try. Old habits are hard to break.

Webbers as always I hope this helped you or you pass it along to someone it can. I am here 2-help-u. I want to be your coach!

I do have some open slots sign up lets talk.

5/18/15 TIPS FOR CHANGE - REGAINING SELF-ESTEEM AFTER A SETBACK

tim thomas life coach
Hi Webbers,

How is your Monday going? Did you have a good day? What made it good? The weather was nice today. That always makes my day better!

I have been hitting the books pretty hard these days. I feel like I am in a non stop cycle of reading and learning and doing. Never mind my everyday business of designing and coaching. Busy busy busy.

I realized today I am overfat and need to get busy. I believe I just past my comfort zone and now there is more pain than pleasure.

Here is this weeks Tips For Change:

Regaining Self-Esteem after a Setback

tim thomas life coachA setback in your self-esteem can be an almost debilitating blow. Job losses, break-ups, and fights
with your best friend or gaining five pounds after losing twenty can all set you back. The list of potential setbacks in your self-esteem is endless. No matter what event or bad day has thrown you back, however, you can make a comeback. You can regain your self-esteem.

Understanding Self-Esteem

Self-esteem is your inner sense of self-worth and self-respect. Sometimes, in the wake of a setback, it can feel difficult to acknowledge or truly feel that you are worthy of even your own respect. This drop in self-esteem can lead to bigger problems and really diminish your quality of life as a whole.

Consider a Different Perspective

Sometimes the best course of action to come back from a setback like this is to look outside yourself. Consider your entire ordeal from a different perspective. It may help you shine some light on the issue at hand, and help you overcome your loss of confidence.

Here are some perspectives you can try:

* Walk in someone else’s shoes - Everybody makes mistakes, and there are no exceptions to that rule. No one is perfect, but that doesn't mean that they aren't worthy of love and respect. To put this in perspective, try seeing your situation from an outsider's point of view. If someone else, especially someone you love, had gone through the same ordeal or made the same mistakes, would you want them to wrestle with low self-esteem? If the person that you are picturing is worthy of self-respect, then so are you.

* Setback or step up? - If your setback comes in the form of a life event such as a break-up or job loss, try considering the event as a step forward instead of a setback. Whatever happens, you are always moving forward with your life. This event is just another stepping stone to what will surely be a bright future.

tim thomas life coach
* Understand your place in the world - Another perspective to consider is your overall place in the world. Sometimes remembering how many people there are on this planet, and how inexplicably big the universe is, can make your ordeal feel so much smaller.

Consider the Positives

When you've put your ordeal into perspective, consider also the positives of the situation. Look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself all your favorite things about yourself - your bright and beautiful eyes, your amazing smile, and your fun sense of humor. Start thinking about everything good you have, both inside and outside.

Know You Are Worthy

Remember that no matter what happens in life, no matter what mistakes you might have made or what setbacks have held you down, that you are worthy. You are worthy of the love and respect of the most important person in your life - you.

Treat Yourself

To prove your love, do something to treat yourself. Get your hair done, go for a run, or buy a new outfit. Take a course or do something that makes you feel good that is not addictive or dangerous.

A blow to your self-esteem can be crippling if you let it. The strongest weapon in your arsenal, however, is yourself. You can overcome this hurdle, but you must first believe in yourself.

That is all I have for today Webbers. As always please feel free to pass this on. I am always looking to talk and bring on more fans, customers or clients.

After all it is your life, live it by your design.

Tips For Change Monday 3/30/2015

Good Morning Webbers,

Tim Thomas here and it is 6:00 Monday morning. I have worked out eaten breakfast and ready for my day at the office. I always like to recap my weekends in the first part of my blog. My goal is to work a half day on Fridays from all the time I invest during the week and somehow it never happens. On Fridays I get to take some down time and spend a couple hours with my mom and daughter. It is such a huge developmental boost to my daughter and us to have my mom look over our daughter. I enjoy seeing how close the two of them are together. To this day my daughter still cries when her nani leaves for the day.

Saturday was my wife's birthday so Avery and I went on our excursion (I am a very last minute shopper). We went off to the mall to no avail. We managed to pick up a card, gift bag and a book. My daughter is afraid of the Easter Bunny. I don't really blame her. They look pretty serial. Anywho that through her so far off her game shopping at the mall was done. On the way home we stopped by our local gift store. There we petted a real chic. Avoided the bunny. Olaf got no warm hugs. However Cinderella got a rave review. We acquired the gift. Presented it to my wife. Had our traditional Birthday dinner and home.

Here is an article that does hit home with me and we try to support with our daughter even though she is still at such a young age.

From Self-Consciousness to Self-Confidence - Tips for Parents of Teens

As a parent, it can be painful to watch your teen struggle with self-consciousness and low confidence. Is there anything you can do to help build your teen's self-confidence? Here are some tips.

Learning to Fail

We want our children to be safe, physically and emotionally. But sources say that this can become too much of a good thing. If you feel the need to protect your child from any difficulty - not allowing him to date, for instance, to protect him from a broken heart; or not letting her try out for a sports team because you don't think she'll be the best - then you may end up undermining your teen's self-confidence. Learning how to try and fail and try again is one of life's most important lessons.

You may think that failure will destroy your teen - after all, if you allow him or her to fail, won't that destroy his or her self-confidence? Surprisingly, failure can be an opportunity - it's a chance to self-assess and ultimately build self-confidence.

Equip Your Teen

Letting your teen flounder on his own without providing guidance can compromise his sense of confidence. He needs some practical tools so that he feels confidently equipped to tackle problems and issues in his life. Have heart-to-heart talks about dating, schoolwork, and parental expectations, and arm your teen with practical advice on what to do in these areas of life. Sometimes, teens just need help formulating a plan of action to feel confident.

Don't Always Blame Others

We all know that parent - the mom who yells at the coach when her child strikes out, or the dad who yells at the teacher when his child is reprimanded. But is that parent you? Think carefully - do you tend to take up your teen's cause no matter what and assume the world is against her? Sometimes, in your eagerness to be a friend to your teen, you may forget that sometimes your teen is in the wrong and needs your correction, or at least your admission that she is on the wrong track.

Beautiful Facts

Most teens are not aware that the images they see on television and in magazines are largely staged. Celebrities who seem perfectly beautiful aren't necessarily so - they have the advantage of being able to spend most of every day working on their appearance, and they also have the advantage of a camera lens between themselves and the rest of the world.

Introduce your teen to the deceptive nature of magazine photography and movie cameras, and point out that keeping up appearances can be so exhausting that few celebrities have normal, healthy lives and relationships.

Well Webbers I hope you enjoyed this blog entry on Tips For Change. I am working the bugs out and will have a whole new platform ready by months end. The first quarter is finished for 2015 are you achieving your goals. What is holding you back? You have this one life are living it on your terms. If not I am here to help you.

Isn't it about time you live your life your way. After all it is your life, live it by your design.

Hypnosis Antiquated or Hip?

Hi Webbers,
Coach Tim Thomas

I hope your week is well. I am having a great week. I have some knee pain going on which is delightful. Since last we spoke I have been sleep deprived due to my young daughter having a nasty cold. I have been working on understanding handwriting in my class and how the sub conscious impacts it.

The great news is I passed my course with RMT on working with women. YAY me!

This weeks article I wanted to speak about hypnosis and how it can help.

What Is Hypnosis?

Can Hypnosis Help Boost Confidence and Self-Esteem?

As an alternative approach, hypnosis is gaining credibility as an effective way to manage low self-esteem and low confidence.

A Real Problem

It's tempting to disregard the whole subject and notion of self-esteem and confidence. Seeking treatment for something so "trivial" may seem silly. But in actuality, low self-esteem and lack of confidence can greatly inhibit your life. For example:

Coach Tim Thomas
* Lack of confidence puts self-doubt and fear in charge, and those can paralyze you in your efforts toward success.

* People with low self-esteem may end up in destructive relationships, thinking they are not worth anyone who treats them well.

* Without confidence, business ventures may not even be tried and financial success remains elusive.

* Low confidence can greatly inhibit the development of your talents and abilities.

* For some people, lack of self-confidence and self-esteem go so far as to produce feelings of depression and even suicide.

As you can see, low self-esteem and lack of confidence are not just modern psycho-babble. People who struggle with these issues often need help. So can hypnosis do the trick?

Many of us have antiquated images of hypnosis that involve swinging watches and hypnotized people doing humiliating things, such as believing they're a chicken. But hypnosis - or hypnotherapy - is different.

Modern hypnotherapy is more about empowerment than deception. When you undergo
hypnotherapy, you learn to enter into a state of deep relaxation (which is a helpful skill in and of itself!). The hypnosis practitioner or therapist then taps into your inner mind and uses the power of suggestion to help rewire negative brain patterns to create healthier ones.
Coach Tim Thomas
Hypnotherapists may use guided imagery, taking you through an imaginary scenario step by step, giving you suggestions and approaches to face the problems presented. Hypnotherapy may help in the following areas:

* Assertiveness, a trait often lacking in those with low confidence, may be enhanced by the suggestive power of hypnosis.

* A positive attitude to help you cope with everyday life

* Facing and overcoming any underlying causes or emotions that may contribute to your low self-esteem

* Developing visions and goals for your life

* Confidence in your abilities may be enhanced by hypnotherapy

* Learning positive self-talk

What may make hypnosis so successful is that it can reach those areas of the mind that you simply can't seem to access. It is a technique that bypasses the "walls" you may have put up to keep people from tapping into the real you, and addresses your core self.

I hope you have enjoyed this article and find it of use. As always please feel free to pass it on to someone who could benefit from it.

I use hypnosis in my practice all the time with my clients and it is always amazing to hear about the results.

3/1/15 SUNDAY DIET EXERCISE & CONFIDENCE

COACH TIM THOMAS
Hi Webbers,

I hope all is well for you and yours today. Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog. Today I wanted to post some information on diet, exercise and confidence. I struggled for the past few years getting my health back in order. I am not there yet but I am that much closer and have learned a lot since that time. My hope is to be able to pass some worthwhile information so others have an easier time than I did.

Today, Is a catch up day where I will be working on a understanding handwriting class which has been very informative. I never knew how much our subconscious could influence our writing. I am also learning my YB12 introductory talk I need to get it done and polished this week.

Enjoy the article below and let me know you thoughts.

How Diet, Exercise, and Confidence Are Connected

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
Do you struggle with not feeling confident? While therapy and coaching can help, it may also be of benefit to address your diet and exercise schedules.

The Connection

When you eat well and exercise, it may help boost your self-confidence. Why? Here are some thoughts.

* Body image - While exercising won't necessarily result in the perfect body, it does tend to give you a sense that you are being proactive about your health; you're doing the right thing and working toward getting fit. Recognizing this - even if you can't get rid of those love handles - can help you feel more confident in yourself.

MOOD FOOD* Mood food - The food you eat can affect your mood, sources say, which in turn affects your confidence. Low blood sugar can cause you to feel grouchy and easily annoyed, and a diet high in sugar may contribute to depression (the ultimate in low confidence!). Lean protein combined with complex carbohydrates is a winning combination.

* Endorphins - Exercise stimulates your body to produce endorphins, which are brain chemicals that help you feel good. These substances play a role in relieving depression and improving mood.

* Energy level - If you're struggling with self-confidence, feeling sluggish doesn't help. Exercise and a healthy diet are key elements to feeling energetic and, ultimately, confident.

* Vitamins and minerals - Your confidence is affected by how you look and feel, and getting the right

vitamins and minerals is important for things like teeth, skin, and hair. When these aspects of your appearance are healthy and at their optimum, it helps you feel better about yourself.

Specifically, some vitamins and minerals are directly implicated in improving mood and, consequently, confidence. These include B-complex vitamins and Vitamin D. In fact, fat-soluble Vitamin D is sometimes used by medical professionals to treat Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). When you are getting the right amount of key vitamins and minerals, you are much more likely to feel confident in yourself.

* Productivity - When your energy and confidence levels are up due to exercise and diet, you are much more likely to be more productive in work, school, and relationships. And this becomes a positive cycle - increased productivity boosts your confidence even more.

COACH TIM THOMAS* Positive effects - If you begin to exercise and eat healthfully, you may find yourself looking better - you may experience weight loss, better muscle tone, and healthier skin. Looking in the mirror and liking what you see can go a long way toward boosting confidence!

I believe in helping people change. I enjoy hearing from my readers and look forward to working with many of you in the future. If you are in need of my coaching services please contact me.
