Tips for change "What Innovation Can Do to Your Life"

Hello Webbers,

I received some sad news today my great aunt has passed. She will be missed. She was an impressive lady and always was on top of things. She would always remind me of how special I was every time I saw her. She will be missed by all of us.

I spent the weekend working in the yard laying pavers one after the other and I am sore. My client list is growing more and more as I do more and more research in the coaching world.

Now lets get at this weeks Tips for change.

What Innovation Can Do to Your Life

It's a talent that everyone has, yet they think they don't. The power of innovation. If you've ever marveled at somebody's creative prowess, guess what, you can create and innovate too. It just takes time. Everyone is born creative. The box of crayons in kindergarten were not limited to those who possessed potential; because the truth is, everybody has potential.

You know how long it took to learn to ride a bike or drive or to never commit the same mistake
again? It's the same with innovation. It takes a  bit of practice and a lot of time before this mind function comes easily  when called. This article will teach you a few tips on how to bring innovation into your life.

Don't listen to what other people say. Follow the beat of your own drum. Allowing for the input of other people will only bring cacophony to the music you are trying to make. If you have an original idea, don't waste your time and effort trying to make people understand. They won't. And the help you will probably get comes in the form of negative feedback. If all those geniuses listened to their peers, we would probably still be living in the middle ages.

Spend time on it. I cannot stress that enough, although, please do not mistake this tip to tell you to quit your day job entirely. Do not. This involves some tricky time management but with a little discipline you'll be able to squeeze both in.

Exercise. Take a walk. Run a mile or two. Send all those endorphin's coursing through your veins. Exercising certainly clears and relaxes your mind and allows for anything to pop up.

Record your dreams. Aren't some of them just the craziest things that your conscious mind would never have thought of? If you've had these dreams before, and I'm sure have, this only shows you the untapped innovative power you have lying within. So jot down those notes. Those dreams may just create an innovative spark in you.

Find your own style. You can always tell a Van Gogh from a Matisse. You'll know Hemingway wrote something by the choice of words on the paper. So it is the same with you. People will appreciate your innovation more because it is uniquely yours and that no one else would have thought of what you were thinking. That will let people see how valuable an asset you are.

Don't hide behind nifty gadgets or tools. You don't need the most expensive set of paints to produce a masterpiece. The same way with writing. You don't need some expensive fountain pen and really smooth paper for a bestseller. In fact, J.K. Rowling wrote the first book of the Harry Potter Series on bits of tissue. So what if you've got an expensive SLR camera if you're a crappy photographer? Who cares if you've got a blinging laptop if you can't write at all? The artist actually reduces the number of tools he has as he gets better at his craft: he knows what works and what doesn't.

Nothing will work without passion. What wakes you up in the mornings? What keeps the flame burning? What is the one thing that you'll die if you don't do? Sometimes people with talent are overtaken by the people who want it more. Think the hare and the tortoise. Ellen Degeneres once said that if you're not doing something that you want to do, then you don't really want to do it. And that's true. Sometimes you just want something so bad you become a virtual unstoppable. And that is passion. Passion will keep you going.

Don't worry about inspiration. You can't force it; inspiration hits when you least expect it to, for those unpredictable yet inevitable moments you should prepare. An idea could strike you on the subway, yet alas, you poor unfortunate soul; you have no sheet of paper to scribble down a thought that could change the world. Avoid these disasters. Have a pen and paper within your arm's reach at all times.

I hope this article has helped you bring more innovation into your life. Keep in mind that you're doing these things for your own satisfaction and not anybody else's. But soon enough they will notice, and everything should snowball from there.

Tips for Change "Happy as You Want to Be!"

tim thomas, success coach
Hi webbers!

I hope your Monday went well. I got to visit a clients home today and woah. All I can say is phenomenal. The furniture was custom, the home was beautiful custom wood and all the creature comforts a anyone would like. I am blessed to have such people in my life willing to share their treasure with me. We had a long ride and lots to discuss. This in turn made me think of this topic for discussion. To be as happy as you want to be. What do you chose? Read below and share your thoughts.

Happy as You Want to Be

Almost everyone has heard the hit single 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' by Bobby McFerrin. The song has a very catchy way of conveying its message of being happy to everyone. Bobby Mcferiin's simple message surely made a lot of people happy by telling them not to worry.

Living a happy, resilient and optimistic life is wonderful, and is also good for your health. Being happy actually protects you from the stresses of life. Stress is linked to top causes of death such as heart disease, cancer and stroke.

One of the better things ever said is - 'The only thing in life that will always remain the same is change', and in our life we have the power to make the necessary changes if we want to. Even if we find ourselves in an unbearable situation we can always find solace in the knowledge that it too would change.

Social networks or relationships are essential to happiness. People are different, accept people for who or what they are, avoid clashes, constant arguments, and let go of all kinds of resentments. If arguments seem unavoidable still try and make an effort to understand the situation and you might just get along well with everyone

Happiness is actually found in everyone, increasing it is a way to make a life more wonderful and also more healthy.

To be happy is relatively easy, just decide to be a happy person. Abraham Lincoln observed that most people for most of the time can choose how happy or stressed, how relaxed or troubled, how bright or dull their outlook to be. The choice is simple really, choose to be happy.

There are several ways by which you can do this.

Being grateful is a great attitude.  We have so much to be thankful for. Thank the taxi driver for bringing you home safely, thank the cook for a wonderful dinner and thank the guy who cleans your windows. Also thank the mailman for bringing you your mails, thank the policeman for making your place safe and thank God for being alive.

News is stressful. Get less of it. Some people just can't start their day without their daily dose of news. Try and think about it, 99% of the news we hear or read is bad news. Starting the day with bad news does not seem to be a sensible thing to do.

A religious connection is also recommended. Being part of a religious group with its singing, sacraments, chanting, prayers and meditations foster inner peace.

Manage your time. Time is invaluable and too important to waste. Time management can be viewed  as a list of rules that involves scheduling, setting goals, planning, creating lists of things to do and prioritizing. These are the core basics of time management that should be understood to develop an efficient personal time management skill. These basic skills can be fine tuned further to include the finer points of each skill that can give you that extra reserve to make the results you desire.

Laugh and laugh heartily everyday.  Heard a good joke? Tell your friends or family about it. As they also say -'Laughter is the best medicine'.

Express your feelings, affections, friendship and passion to people around you. They will most likely reciprocate your actions. Try not to keep pent up anger of frustrations, this is bad for your health. Instead find ways of expressing them in a way that will not cause more injury or hurt to anyone.

Working hard brings tremendous personal satisfaction. It gives a feeling of being competent in finishing our tasks. Accomplishments are necessary for all of us, they give us a sense of value. Work on things that you feel worthy of your time.

Learning is a joyful exercise. Try and learn something new everyday.  Learning also makes us expand and broaden our horizons. And could also give us more opportunities in the future.

Run, jog, walk and do other things that your body was made for. Feel alive.

Avoid exposure to negative elements like loud noises, toxins and hazardous places.

These are the few simple things you can do everyday to be happy.

And always remember the quote from Abraham Lincoln, he says that, "Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."

Tips for change "What Really Makes You Tick"

tim thomas success coach 2-help-u
Webbers,

How are you today? I tell you I am riding high and loving life. I got the pleasure of treating my daughter to her first Red Sox Game she was amazed and was a good sport. As I sit here today in some clarity of the day. I thought this topic of What really makes you tick. How well do you understand you?

My game is self improvement and I always work with my own coach and the best feeling I get from it is I have a partner they have been where I am and worked through it. Everything we try doesn't work and sometimes it is a short trip when we look outside the box. Other times it is small adjustments.

My biggest gain for me is that I have to have rituals and I have standards for myself not for others. The past few years I have had to clear lots of things out of my life to make room for myself. Looking back I am glad I have taken the time to do that. I feel much more confident in my station in life.

Just a little insight into the change work I have done. I reserve the right to be a work in progress.

Now let's get to it.
What Really Makes You Tick

"What Really Makes You Tick?" 10 questions you should ask to yourself: a preparation to self-
tim thomas success coach 2-help-u
improvement

Be all you can be, but it's not always in the Army. I often see myself as somewhat contented with my life the way things are, but of course it's hard to think of anything else when there are real issues to be discussed.

Still I aspire for something deeper and more meaningful.

So we're all pelted with problems. Honestly it shouldn't even bother or even hinder us to becoming all we ought to be. Aspirations as kids should continue to live within us, even though it would be short-lived or as long as we could hold on to the dream. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks… or can they?

1. What do I really want?
The question of the ages. So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about during the day.

Find something that you are good at can help realize that small step towards improvement. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it.

tim thomas success coach 2-help-u
2. Should I really change?
Today's generation has taken another level of redefining 'self', or at least that's what the kids are saying. Having an army of teenage nieces and nephews has taught me that there are far worse things that they could have had than acne or maybe even promiscuity. So how does that fit into your lifestyle?

If history has taught us one thing, it's the life that we have gone through. Try to see if partying Seventies style wouldn't appeal to the younger generation, but dancing is part of partying. Watch them applaud after showing them how to really dance than break their bones in break-dancing.

3. What's the bright side in all of this?
With so much happening around us there seems to be no room for even considering that light at the end of the tunnel. We can still see it as something positive without undergoing so much scrutiny. And if it's a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round!

4. Am I comfortable with what I'm doing?
There's always the easy way and the right way when it comes to deciding what goes with which shoes, or purse, shirt and whatnot. It doesn't take a genius to see yourself as someone unique, or else we'll all be equally the same in everything we do. Variety brings in very interesting and exciting questions to be experimented.

5. Have I done enough for myself?
Have you, or is there something more you want to do? Discontentment in every aspect can be dangerous in large doses, but in small amounts you'll be able to see and do stuff you could never imagine doing.

6. Am I happy at where I am today?
It's an unfair question so let it be an answer! You love being a good and loving mom or dad to your
kids, then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever. The same goes with everyday life!

7. Am I appealing to the opposite sex?
So maybe I don't have an answer to that, but that doesn't mean I can't try it, though. Whether you shape-up, change the way you wear your clothes or hair, or even your attitude towards people, you should always remember it will always be for your own benefit.

8. How much could I have?
I suppose in this case there is no such thing as having too much or too little, but it's more on how badly you really need it. I'd like to have lots of money, no denying that, but the question is  how much are you willing to work for it?

9. What motivates me?
What motivates you? It's an answer you have to find out for yourself. There are so many things that can make everyone happy, but to choose one of them may be the hardest part. It's not like you can't have one serving of your favorite food in a buffet and that's it. Just try it piece by piece.

10. What Really Makes You Tick?
So? What really makes you tick? You can be just about anything you always wanted to be, but to realize that attaining something that may seem very difficult is already giving up before you even start that journey. Always remember, that self-improvement is not just about the physical or philosophical change you have to undergo, but it's something that you really want.

Tips for Change "The Advantages of Self-Confidence"

tim thomas, success coach
Hi Webbers,

What a lovely Monday. My day has been an unbelievable positive day among the challenges of the day. My daughter has a clean bill of health. Thankfully! As the day progressed I had a few design challenges that I needed to get through. Finally I got home and had to take care of the much needed groceries. As my daughter and I traveled to the grocery store she talked about being kind and not hurting anyone. We went through the store and had the most helpful experience. Now was that the luck of the evening I believe it was the intent and the standard we set and we attracted that. We did that. What is your standard? Do you take responsibility for where you are? Our choices get us our lot in life and I have made lots of poor ones. Every poor choice I chose one way or the other. Every morning I get up and choose to set the standard for my daughter. I look at her in awe and how much of an adult she is I love the person she is becoming.

How does this relate to today's Tips for Change. She is a very confident child. She can do things that I am amazed at and I hope she continues on her path! Enjoy the read and remember I am here to help you and want to see you succeed if you are taking the time to read these tips. Please let me know what I can do to help.

Tips for Change "Shape Self in Society for Self Identity"

Hi Webbers,

tim thomas, success coachIt is Monday evening close to early morning and it has been one of those days. It is amazing how people believe because you hold a certain station in life that you don't have any problems, challenges or frustrations. It couldn't be any further from the truth as in the movie Rocky quote "It ain't all sunshine and rainbows." Today has been one of those days for me. Quite challenging. It is fitting that today's tips for change is on self identity. I struggled with this and still do. I have made lots of mistakes.

For those of you who don't know I have been on the self development train for a long time it is only in the last six years that I have been driving the train so to say. I need to make some changes and raise some standards and have had to become brutally honest. Not just for myself. My daughter is the most important person in my life. Tonight everything gets put on hold after dinner. We go down to our basement I work out she plays and then we do an hour of martial study.

I have to remember and this is where I struggle in my own nature. I feel it on most days I have a rage that burns deep down inside me and would also carry me through any tragedy I could ever face good bad or different. I have been in lots of trouble because of this - I also have reaped the benefits of it. Where does it come from - I can finally say it was environmentally driven. The way I grew up with all the adversity I faced. When I train. This rage can come out pretty easy and in the flow of moving it can get away from me. These days it is transforming for me I am able to look from a different view whether it is from meditating or mindfulness. I believe it comes from trying to be more compassionate, understanding and loving.

tim thomas, success coach
Now I have a six year old that I am trying to pass on thousands of years of martial information. Nothing to serious but enough to make her know it is. As we move through the exercises we are working on. We are talking about the reality of how mean people can be. As we move back into a defensive stance and hands up and there is no need for trouble here. She says on her own I am here to help. Then she goes into about the movie of Big Hero Six how the person wasn't really a bad person. She already understands that people can loose themselves. Zero judgement just that it is in Human nature. How amazed I was. I had to tell her how much I loved her. I am blessed to have her in my life.

I would much rather live a life of love and compassion than one of anger and resentment. I hope you enjoy today's Tips for change.

Shape Self in Society for Self Identity

Our self identity has a special place in our lives. Our self identity forms an intrinsic part of our identity and is an important area of study when studying about the intricacies of human nature. Each and every individual needs to acknowledge his self identity in order to make sense of the purpose of his life and for his own well being.

Realizing our self identity helps us to realize the main purpose of our lives and determine the kind of person we’ll like to be in our future. Self identity plays a very important part in determining the goals of our lives and greatly influences a person’s mind and shaping his general school of thought. The way a person perceives his inner self also plays a very important part in determining the course of action taken by an individual to achieve a particular goal and to constantly monitor, evaluate and redirect his pursuits. The inner self is responsible for shaping a person’s behavior, self-esteem, motivation and experience. It is responsible for building interpersonal relationships as well.

The society in which we live also has an important part to play in shaping up our inner self. The self of the society and the self-environment are connected with each other. Most of the people tend to neglect their inner self relating to the society and their immediate surroundings. They need to realize that self identity is an important part of our inner self, which allows an individual to understand his relationship with the world and himself in a better manner. Even if some individual refuses to acknowledge his inner self, he cannot possibly deny its existence as well. Inner self is present in every individual whether he acknowledges it or not.

A person can acknowledge his inner self by indulging in meditation and yoga. These exercises help an individual to calm his senses and realize his hidden powers and inner identity. It is very important for a person to realize his inner self and latent strengths and weaknesses in order to trigger the process of self-development.

A lot of people nowadays suffer from the problem of identity crisis. Individuals are so entangled in
tim thomas, success coach
their hectic professional and personal work front that they get absolutely no time to discover themselves and acknowledge what they are truly capable of.

It will not be wrong to say that materialistic elements, such as individualism and egoism have made people wary of humanitarian traits, such as compassion and kindness. They tend to think only for their own vested interests. Philosophers believe that people are fast forgetting the fact that our self-identity and self-environment are intimately connected with each other. If a person becomes too self-obsessed with himself and starts neglecting the well-being of environment around him, it is impossible for him to successfully accomplish the process of self-development and find his self identity amidst the identity of the society and self-environment.

Our self-environment has also been suffering a setback as the number of crimes has been increasing steadily. People find it extremely difficult to trust the security and other social organizations, which delay the growth of society and self-environment all the more.

A person can even look around his environment and several elements in the society and try to seek inspiration for the purpose of development of his inner self and self environment. Seeking inspiration from our environment can help us to create awareness about ourselves and our inner weaknesses and how to overcome them. It helps us to gain self confidence and build faith over ourselves. Self identity of the society and self-environment share a very deep bond which can be only understand when an individual tries to accept himself for what he is, with all his faults and strengths.

Tips for change "Confidence Through Neuro-linguistic Programming And Self-hypnosis"

tim thomas, life coach
Hi Webbers,

For those of you that have kept up with me over the years. Know I have invested a lot of time and money learning a lot of different ways to help people. I want to be able to have every resource available to work with a client and I think they deserve every option possible. Today's Tips for Change is a pleasure to present.

In doing so I was looking at some old pictures with my daughter and she is asking who is
tim thomas, life coach
that and when I told her it was me she said no way. Laughing I said what do you mean? She said you don't wear glasses and you are skinny. Great I guess the nickname tubby Timmy is sticking. I love my daughter and the goofy times we have together. We will be off celebrating another year  this weekend. Time flies when you are having fun!

Enough about that I hope you enjoy this weeks article. Lastly we have incorporated a community section on the site www.2-help-u.com . Please send an email if you want proffered status we are still in Beta Testing. Click on the community link if you want to sneak a peak.

"Confidence Through Neuro-linguistic Programming And Self-hypnosis"

Self confidence is an emotional and mental state of mind which responds to our need for self-acceptance and recognition. It's among the oldest and most studied concepts in psychology. It is used to describe a good albeit adequate perception of oneself and one's abilities. Hence, self-confident people generally have a better knowledge of what they are able to achieve and are more likely to be successful in what they attempt. They are also more likely to accept and learn from their mistakes.

Contrarily, a lack of confidence may deter you from trusting that your actions or decisions will ultimately turn out the way you had planned. It can thus hamper the buildup of executive skills, planning and managerial abilities all of which are basic and mandatory skills in today's business world. The pre-occupation with other people's judgment of your work might also cause you to become too self-critical, which will distract you from things you would have otherwise been totally able to do.

tim thomas, life coachLow self confidence will also have an impact your social life, because people with a low level of self confidence tend to stay in their "comfort zone" and dread the risk of rejection. This is called social phobia and presents a high level of co-morbidity with low self confidence, but also other mental conditions such as depression. People with low self confidence are afraid of being judged by their peers and will avoid talking to new people, which can result in isolation and even lower self confidence. Low self confidence is a vicious circle that is hard to break.

On the other hand, because they believe in their own aptitudes, self-confident persons are able to do what they feel is right and don't expect the approval of their peers. They also trigger confidence: your boss, employees, customers, friends or relatives are more likely to trust you or what you are telling them when you appear self-confident.

Different experiences can contribute to low self confidence. New research indicates that parenting style has a major impact on the development of the self confidence of children. Bodily and emotional abuses during childhood are for example the worse for a person's self confidence, as well as divorce and family conflicts. Overprotective parents may also be a reason for a child's social phobia and hamper the independence that is necessary to develop self confidence. Successes and failures, for example at school or in one's professional life, also play a significant role: losing a job or failing a class are among the several experiences that will have a negative impact on your self confidence.

There are nonetheless methods to overcome such bad experiences and gain self confidence. The first step to build self confidence would be to learn to know who you are and what your strengths are. Recognizing that you are allowed not to be perfect and cannot be the best in all that you do will help you gain self confidence. Accepting yourself as you are is the key to building self confidence. But improving self confidence also requires that you start taking risks and giving yourself credit for your accomplishments. This is very simple advice which will help you develop self confidence. You may also find many books which will claim they can help you gain self confidence, however not all of them are reliable.

A lot people suffer from low self confidence or are only able to gain self confidence in one or
tim thomas, life coach
a few areas of their lives because they constantly look for other people's approval and are afraid that they could fail. A lot of factors, like childhood traumas, can explain why some people cannot enjoy the wholesome life a self confident individual could have. These persons also do not always know how to gain self confidence. However gaining self confidence can now readily and effectively be done with hypnosis and NLP.

As we have seen before low self confidence and social phobia can be caused by bad experiences or unconscious fears which are sometimes hard to overcome with self persuasion only. Confidence hypnosis and NLP on the contrary are able to get to the unconscious part of our brain and change belief systems to boost self confidence. They are effective tools that will help you face your fears and believe in yourself to develop self confidence.

Hypnosis for building confidence has been in use for a few decades and has shown significant results in building self confidence. In a hypnotic state, reaching unconscious thoughts is a lot easier and, through hypnotic suggestion, it is possible to replace your negative thought patterns with positive ones to boost self-confidence.

Webbers I really hope you enjoyed this reading and I am already looking forward to next week.

Tips for Change "Awaken your senses through self hypnosis"

tim thomas, life coach
Awaken your senses through self hypnosis

The modern world has brought people a lot of preoccupation. It made living faster yet complicated, it made interactions wider yet shorter, and it made communication easier yet brief. Despite the so many preoccupations brought by media created by people, there are also those who would want to get back to their original self and connect with it in the most basic possible means. One of these is self hypnosis. Defined as a "process involving a hypnotist and a subject who agrees to be hypnotized," self hypnosis is characterized by intense concentration, extreme relaxation, and high suggestibility to both parties.

Experts say that the self hypnosis is versatile. In fact, its versatility can be quite unparalleled. Today, self hypnosis can take place in various social settings and continue to change social settings dramatically. Unlike before where settings of self hypnosis are quite limited, today the sessions between the hypnotist and the subject can take place in common places such as clinics, showrooms, classrooms, and even to open spaces and establishments.

Other experts use self hypnosis in order to recover suppressed memories of people who have had bad experiences to help them overcome the problems that they are dealing with right now while other psychologists and hypnotherapists use hypnosis to discover hidden truths from a person's ordinary consciousness. This is done by tapping into the unconscious state or mind where information are believed to dwell.

Many perceive that self hypnosis as a trance-like altered state of a person's consciousness while
others believe that it is a way of accessing a person's unconscious mind that is filled to suppressed memories, repressed multiple personalities, various magical insights, and unforgettable memories of the past life. But, in the world of psychology, self hypnosis is considered as altered state and gateway to knowledge about one's self and the universe he or she is living in.

Today, self hypnosis is not only used for treating various behavioral problems but also for self-enhancement and improvement. If you are planning to get into hypnosis or self-hypnosis, there are so many things you need to consider. Experts say that self hypnosis is one of the excellent ways of taking control over one's life. In fact, it can be used as means of disciplining yourself if you want to achieve a specific goal. For some people, self-hypnosis is advisable if you want to achieve something and utmost dedication and discipline is needed. Hypnosis introduction can benefit those who would want to lose or gain weight; those who want to boost their self-confidence; and those who would want to overcome their fears or phobias because it can help them contemplate a lot on the things that they need to do.

If you are planning to get a course on self hypnosis, you can expect that it can teach you to reach your subconscious mind through bypassing your conscious mind as well as how to communicate with your subconscious mind, methods of creating your own hypnosis scripts and visualizations, how to design and use affirmations, the effects and use of symbols on the subconscious mind, how to understand which methods will be most effective for you personally, deepening your trance state and using visualizations, adapting to scripts to suit various problems, how to change your personal history and plan a more effective future and how to understand your dreams as well.

7/20/15 Tips for Change "Incorporate a Set Time for Mindless Fun"

tim thomas life coachEvening Webbers,

How has the week been? I hope these tips are helping you or someone you love. It has been a hot summer and I am loving my new time schedule that I have set for myself. I give the company my attention it needs and then I keep the rest. I usually would sit for hours and work on paperwork at night and I have stopped that cold. When the day ends I shut it off and move on to other things. Tonight I worked the lawn. Cleaned out the weeds and hung a hummingbird feeder and bird feeder. I love watching birds it is so relaxing.

Webbers lets get right into this weeks topic!

Incorporate a Set Time for Mindless Fun

tim thomas life coachAs they say, all work and no play makes you dull. But what it really does is make you stressed out,
and ineffective. If you really want to be good at your job and productive every single day, setting aside time for mindless fun each and every day is imperative. Being mindless for a little bit each day will make you more creative and productive.

* Go for a Walk – Everyone should try to take a walk each day for about 30 to 45 minutes. Walking at a brisk pace for this length of time will help your heart, as well as clear out the cobwebs from your mind. Avoid taking anything with you to listen to, like music, or lectures, or books. Instead, try not to think of anything but how your breath feels going in and out of your lungs, and how the air smells to your nose.

* Read a Chapter of a Book – No, don’t read something about your industry. Read something simple and mindless that is not realistic. Read “chick lit”, murder mysteries, science fiction or another genre that you enjoy that seems like ultimate pleasure and nothing more. If you have teenagers, try reading some of their books for a real eye-opening experience.

* Play a Video Game – There are many different games you can play today, from games online to old-fashioned games on paper. Take just 15 minutes or so to play a round or two of a game that you enjoy and don’t think of anything else while you’re doing it. Set the timer. Time flies when you’re playing games.

* Create an Art Project – Want to learn to paint, knit or sew? Why not start now. You can learn something new and find a hobby that takes your mind out of your work. Painting is really good for that because you can be abstract and not exact on your creations. It will teach you that imperfections can be beautiful.

* Meditate – This requires a quiet room, comfortable clothing, and just 15 minutes. Find a way to sit that is comfortable, usually with your legs crossed and your back straight, hands relaxed on your thighs. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Breathe in, and out. In through your nose, and out through your mouth. Take deep, long breaths and focus on nothing else for the time you’ve set aside. You want your mind to literally think of nothing.

* Jump on a Trampoline – One of the best exercises is rebounding, and it's fun too. When you are jumping, think of only the fun of jumping, not what’s next in your life. Just think of right now, jumping up and down.

* Get in a Hot Tub – If you have access to a hot tub, or just your tub full of hot water, get in. Fill up the tub with nice smelling bubbles, light some candles, and enjoy until the water cools down. Different smells will give you different feelings. Try mint for more energy, lavender to calm down.

* Get a Massage – Depending on where you live, you can get someone to come to your home or office for a massage. Massages usually take from 30 to 40 minutes and are a perfect weekly treat to help you get out of your head and enjoy mindless fun.

* Take a Vacation – You can’t take a vacation every day of course, but you should take one at least
once a year. If you cannot take one long two-week vacation each year, try taking more frequent smaller three-day weekend vacations where you disconnect and unplug so that you can come back refreshed and ready to work.

* Watch Funny Videos – Everyone loves cat videos, or videos of babies laughing. Set aside a bit of time on occasion to watch some funny videos. It will help you have a full happy day, and spark your creativity due to the happy endorphins released during laughter.

* Take a Nap – A 20-minute power nap can do wonders helping you become more creative. You need someplace good to nap such as a cool bedroom or a comfortable couch in your office. Pull the shades, turn off the technology, and set an alarm.

* Take in a Movie – Whether you go to the theater or watch instantly on Netflix, a good movie can take you to a whole new world. Most movies are one to two hours long, so plan this one into your schedule carefully.

* Learn to Knit – Once you learn to knit, it becomes a mindless activity that is very repetitive yet something you must focus on to get it right. Having something mindless to take your focus can make you that much more energetic and creative when you come back to work tasks.

* Take a Dance Class – Nothing can quite get your blood pumping like a good dance. You can take lessons with a friend, or a spouse, or even alone depending on the type of dance you want to learn. It’s not really important that you’re good at it, just that you have fun.

tim thomas life coach* Create a Vision Board – While not totally mindless, it’s very helpful to create a vision board to help you envision and plan your future by making them look real on a vision board. You can use Pinterest or old-fashioned paper, glue and paint to do it.

* Have Sex – This might seem like a strange thing to say but so many of us get so busy with our working lives that we forget about our spouses. Life, children, and work take precedence over fun activities like sex far too often. It might seem that it’s not so romantic to schedule it in, but it’s very important if you’re in a relationship like that not to ignore it.

All of these activities are pretty mindless and can get you out of yourself a bit. It’s important to incorporate mindless fun into your life so that you can be even more wonderful than you already are. All of these activities get you out of your head and can actually get your creative juices flowing. Just be sure to stick to your schedule so that mindless activity doesn’t take over completely and that work doesn’t get in the way of having mindless fun.
